Override dark background on nav map screen when headlights on

    When the headlights are on the nav screen switches to a dark colored background which is nice until you have to turn on the headlights during the day for example when it rains. When it is light out and the nav screen has a dark background it is it is hard to see, is there any way to override this feature so that the nav map displays the lighter background?

    Just turn the dash dimmer thumb-wheel all the way up.

    Or touch the "Day Mode" button in the "Display" menu (visible only when the headlights are on).

    This is another part of my "I hate the Nav system" complaint. Would an ambient light sensor have been too much to ask for?
