    My car is a 2010 prius with the base option, it is showing signs of a dead traction battery so i use my laptop to scan the car and it shows 3 codes, 2 of the codes are weak cells and one of the code is the dreaded P0A80 so i basically bought a donor battery ( the donor is a 3rd gen prius ) then i swapped the whole battery assy into the car and the weak battery subcodes vanished, but the P0A80 stays and wont go away and it is stuck on permanent

    Also delta soc is 0
    and all the cells measured up to around 6-7 volts

    my only last choice is to take the 12v bat out and try it again

    It's not your ONLY choice.
    Just disconnect the 12v battery for a minute, then reconnect it.
    Does the car start, and drive? If so, drive it. That code should go away after a while,
    at least I think that's one of the codes that need to read "X" amount of cycles withought
    a problem then it resets.

    Is the 12v battery in good shape?

    If this is true, then your 'new' battery is dead as a door nail.

    I've replaced HV batteries in a few Gen 3s. Sometimes the P0A80 will NOT clear, even when trying to clear DTCs using techstream software. It's just one of those things. As long as the new HV battery is good, the 'Permanent' code will eventually clear itself after the proper number of drive cycles have been completed.

    The conditions that will clear up P0A80 with a healthy battery are mentioned here.

    I'm glad it's running. That code should go away shortly.
    And that is NOT your battery voltage. That is the voltage the inverter is
    using to charge the battery.
    Check the battery with the car off. It should be above 12.6....
