I ordered a DICE Ipod integration unit
from the PriusChat shop about a month ago. Along with it it seemed to make sense to get the Proclips DICE Ipod Cradle as well (I no longer see that listed in the Priuschat shop?). (Here's another source for the video ready Proclips mount.)

In any case it wasn't really clear that the cradle is useless without some sort of mounting bracket. There are some discussions in other threads. In any case, I finally found the Panavise Bracket [IMG]
at panaviseonline.com for the '04+ Prius. It ran just under $35 with shipping. I wanted to report that I have it installed and my impressions for anyone else who might be interested.

Carl, from panavise, is a real person, probably a garage business, but has a working 800# and very quick service. He confirmed and shipped my order within an hour of placing it online. It arrived on the 3rd day after I ordered via USPS.

The bracket is well made, strong and has a very nice textured black finish. It includes nice instructions with photos for installation. It includes all screws and hardware needed to install both the bracket and the Ipod cradle to the bracket (which was nice since the Proclips Dice mount didn't include any screws/nuts).

You will need a couple of tools... a 10mm socket (on an extension will help a lot), a 5/16th crescent and a smaller 1/4" crescent as well as a phillips head screw driver.

Install consists of removing the vent cover to the right of the MFD, undoing the 10mm bolt next to the vent that helps secure the MFD. Putting the first bracket piece on (don't put the 2 pieces together until you have the vent cover back on or you won't get the vent back on!) by securing the one bolt back in place. I also ran my DICE cable along the MFD side of the vent so it would come out right under the bracket with almost no slack at all for a nice clean install. 2 nice nuts secure the second piece to the first then 4 screws attach the Proclips/Dice cradle to the bracket. You adust the position of the mount to your liking, tighten the screw, attack the appropriate size bracket for your version of the Ipod, and finally plug in the cable to the back of the Proclips mount and you're off.

I also received my bracket and installed it. Very easy install, probably took me less than 5 minutes including reading the instructions. One note, make sure to press the vent to the left when re-installing it, this will minimize any gap that is created from the bracket. I'm using mine with a XM Skyfi and the bottom two buttons, Dest & Map, are both blocked now. Because the Skyfi is wide I'm going to see if I can get an adapter to move the Skyfi a bit to the right.
