There are 2 panels to the right of the display dimmer switch. Any suggestions as to what I could have installed there?

I think the panels are for IPA(an option in European Prii and Japanese Prii that will make the car park it's self) and the Japanese and European EV Buttton. You can put just about anything that fits in there in there. There is an EV mod that uses the slot you are talking about and don't think about IPA. Sure you can spend alot of money and time installing the parts for IPA, but it would not be worth it(well at least to me). But it would be really cool if you did do that.

Hmm... well thanks for letting me know but I'm really not interested in screwing up the car which I am bound to do if I start fiddling around.

    Thanks Again

Yeah, it's for the EV button and something else. The image below is from the '04/'05 Prius so there is only one slot. This image shows an installed EV Button.

    What exactly does EV mean?

Electric Vehicle mode. There are aftermarket kits and DIY instructions. Basically, keeps the gas engine off if possible (withing a given speed limit and battery charge limits etc.)

My avatar shows all three slots filled. From left to right: aiming the headlights, EV, IPA.

Yeah. I don't think it's the dimmer; I think it's the adjustment for the auto-leveling headlights. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that you can adjust the level of the headlights in the European (Japanese?) Prius.

I stuck in a push button for the "anytime reverse camera" mod, and a switch for the "speed sensor defeat" (both the bluetooth and the nav).

So you have your car set up so you can just push a button and the back up camera will turn on whenever?

It's not terribly difficult, if you know what you're doing. Darell provides a pretty good explanation of whats involved in his mods section: http://evnut.com/prius_mfd_video.htm

If you don't know how to solder, i wouldn't make this your first try, though! The cost of parts for it was at most a couple of bucks (can't tell you exactly since i used some parts from my chest of parts that have accumulated over the years)

Ok well thanks for the directions but no. I do not trust myself to not muck it up to high heaven and then be stuck with a non-working Prius. So how much do you charge to come and do this? I'm willing to pay up to and maybe over 1 Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake and some Tollhouse Cookies. Can we work something out here? :)

In 06 JDM or right-hand drive model, the two slots are for EV (full electric mode) and Keyless entry disabling button. (for people who need to disble the RFID in case it interfere with their pacemakers). The manual headlight leveling swtich is relocated to the side of the Power button (which is below the right air-con vent)
