    I
went on a freeway interchange about 270 degree loop to the right then accelerated out of it and BRAKE light came on. I let off the gas, light gone.

Same thing twice in a row. This is the light that comes on when the parking brake is activated. While the light was on, i lightly juggled the P-Brake with my foot and it did not go away.

This has happened in the same spot two days in a row. Any ideas?

First guess: have you checked the brake fluid level? I'm wondering if the 270 loop is sloshing the fluid in the reservoir away from a level sensor long enough to trigger the light. The warning light should cover more things than just the parking brake.

It happens when the temperature is close to freezing. I've lived with it for years.

    That is important.
It is a brake warning light and leaving the parking brake on is just one of MANY things that will cause it to light.
All of the other things are more serious.

Yea, have a 2002 Prius, this happened to me, It seems to be I had low Break Fluid (Mechanic said corrupted to). Did a flush and new fluid and the light has not come on while driving so far. Cross fingers.

Our former 2003 Prius had a sensitive, level detector. So when I'd see the light come on, I'd top off the brake fluid reservoir and problem solved.
