Amazing. Could this be the start of something....

My own belief is that abortion is a states rights issue - and for the record i am pro - letting a women kill her fetus up through a reasonable amount of time of gestation.

For what it's worth, the supreme court only upheld a law that baned one specific type of abortion - removing the fetus intact and crushing or cutting the skull. A much more common method - dismembering the fetus while still in the uterus - is still allowed. Also, as the article below states, 90% of abortions are performed in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and aren't affected by this law.

IMO, this isn't indicating any "start of something" with regards to abortion. They aren't limiting when abortions can take place, or who can have them, or anything like that. They're simply ruling against one method of abortion while leaving other methods untouched.

It's amazing that a country as violent as ours would actually care about something like this.

Why's everyone afraid to say 'baby' in stead of featus ... pull the head off a 7 month old fetus? Haven't premature babys survived as early as 5 months or younger? Do the feet have to clear the womb before the name changes? Or, when does the name change?

there is more violence perpetrated on the unborn in a month than on the living in a year. and i am pro-killing a baby as long as its less than a certain amount of gestation inside a mothers womb.

perhaps if we started treating the unborn life inside of us like humans we would start treating the humans already born well too?

perhaps we set the tone if we say its ok to kill babies as long as they are inside the mothers stomach - well if thats ok why not after they come out??

perhaps we are not as violent as you think. perhaps there are always a certain % of humans that do wrong no matter what you do??

How do you define that "certain amount of time"? Whats the arbitrary number you would have us use, Berman?

The Government has absolutely no business telling a woman what she can and cannot do.

This isn't Islam and we aren't under Sharia law.. keep out of peoples freaking business.

Everything but the infants head comes out during a partial birth abortion read all about it here. . .

I don't know about giving the baby a name at that point but a couple more inches and you could call it murder.

i dont know and it keeps shifting in my opinion. i would like to use the time at which the baby is viable outside the womb which keeps shrinking the window of availability for the mother and father.

how about you? you see my number is not so arbitrary is it?

This may be true; I agree with you. Especially about the % of humans doing wrong.

    But...

I also believe that the credibility and effectiveness of our judgement would be increased if we were more adept at casting the light of self-examination upon ourselves.

    That's all I'm saying.

.... Maybe you should apply this to yourself. Stop bashing your own country and the people whom service and sacrifice.

I'm not bashing our Country any more than you're supporting it.

It is possible to be pro-American without being anti-the-rest-of-the-world...haven't you heard?

Now, back to what's important: How about a $400 haircut?!? Now THAT'S un-American.
