"Day One: Put new rules in place to 'break the link between lobbyists and legislation.

"Day Two: Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

"Time remaining until 100 hours: Raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, maybe in one step. Cut the interest rate on student loans in half. Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients.

"Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds...

"All the days after that: 'Pay as you go,' meaning no increasing the deficit, whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority."

Post-election promises are all well and good. But how much will she carry through on, and how much will she actually be able to do with a hair-thin margin in the Senate, and the other two branches of government still in the other party's hands?

Try as she might, there's still not enough votes to override a veto.

    That would depend.

Bush won't be running again, but members of the House and Senate will be. The public wants action. If both parties are smart, they'll look for common sense, moderate, centrist solutions and they'll work to implement them. If the President wants to be an obstructionist that's his problem. But if they want to be re-elected...they'll over-ride his veto.
