It appears that the Toyota app has been updated to show the same percentage of useable battery remaining as is displayed in the vehicle. As our 2024 Prime is primarily my wife's car, I always check the battery remaining in the app to know when to plug the car in. This past weekend the app showed 18% remaining which freaked me out as I couldn't believe that the battery only had that little left as hybrid mode had always kicked in at 30%. After a little investigation I discovered that the app must have been updated. Just giving owners the heads up.
Confirm seeing the same change. Given that their last app update for me was three weeks ago it's a change Toyota made on the server side. I've adjusted to knowing that it's now just the percentage of the usable EV range and not representing the battery as a whole. The app history of kWh used to charge the battery remains just a made up formula which only multiples 0.103 by each percent of charge added back to the battery.
Thanks for the explanation re: the change being on the server side. Like you I noticed the last update to the app was in late June.
