I just picked up my Prius III last weekend from Longo and I had the urge to start modding immediately.

The first order of business were the wheels. I wanted to wait for the factory 17's, but since those are hard to source, I picked up a brand new set of TC wheels. I'm falling more and more in love with them everyday. I think they look especially good on the gen 3 body.

Then I installed the 4000K silverstar bulbs which were a breeze. Love the color and output over the stock bulbs. Hopefully they'll last more than 1 year.

Today, I went to get my tint installed. Having been pulled over twice before for tinting, I decided to go extremely subtle and get 70% all around. I just didn't want to risk another fix-it ticket, but wanted to cut a little bit more light and get the 99% UV filtration. Tint is Johnson 70% silhouette installed at California Tint in Rosemead. $135. I know it looks stock, but that's the point.

My final mod today wasn't for my car, but for my 5DII. Canon 100mm F2. Loving the bokeh!!!

The bokeh is awesome in that shot, creatively composed too. 100mm f2! Sweet.

Thanks efusco! I'm having an awesome time with the lens. I have a thing for nice bokeh. Also have the Sigma 50 1.4 which also produces lovely bokeh. Heck, forget the car, I can talk cameras for hours! LOL!

Great looking vehicle. I really, really like the TC wheels! You're tempting me to spend some more $$'s. ;)

    Very nice
The wheels may look better on one with a sunroof

Man, that photography is incredible! What beautiful pictures!

I wish your Prius was black (mine is) so that I could use it for my background!

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone! I think cars and photography were made for each other.

Mark, you should definitely get the wheels. It really transforms the look of the car without spending a fortune while still retaining a oem type look. MPG wise, the computer is reading 52, but I heard there is a variance of ~ .5-1 MPG so I'm probably getting around 51 MPG. That's a loss of about 3 MPG from my stock 15's.

W3Bconsultor, the only thing I would have done differently with the tint is to get the upper hatch window a little darker. Since we don't have auto dimming mirrors, I should have gotten 50% on the hatch window while keeping it 70% all the way around. Glad the pics helped!

Yup, the car is already tinted in the pics. I wish they made something between 70% and 50%. A touch darker would have been nice. I got a brand new set of TC wheels and tires with 30 miles on it for $500US on Craigslist. Funny thing is, the seller turned out to be a very good mutual friend, but I had struck the deal before I knew it was him so there are great deals to be had.

    Thanks so much Octavia!

Haha, seriously lucky. I definitely feel for our Canadian brethren! But what sucks is the sales tax where I live is 9.75%! Yikes!

    Looks great!

I feel ya on the tint tickets. I used to have 35% on the front windows and after two tickets I gave up and went to 70% on the front.

Yeah, I'm totally with you F8L. Just didn't want to deal with it anymore. LA cops are pretty notorious. BTW, your '05 looks sick!!!

    Presario,

Nice taste. I picked up my white 2010 prius from Longo too, I put 17" tenzo wheels, tinted windows, remote start, HID headlights and Kenwood subwoofer.

My next mod is the Enginer Kit for plug-in. I can't wait since I am getting horrible MPG, maybe due to short trips.

Looks great, Presario. Imagine it lowered by an inch or so to remove some of the fender gap - would look even slicker, then.

Holy cow, your car is gorgeous! I absolutely love the wheels. Dude, let us konw how the Enginer kit works out for you. Would love to hear about your results.

Yeah, the car would look great lowered a tad, but I definitely need the clearance where I live.
