I saw somewhere on PC--perhaps the 'Priuck' thread--A/C being piped in to the HV battery cooling channels. In regions with warm-to-hot weather year-round, what do I need to be aware of when employing this tactic as a temporary means to reduce stress on a vehicle temporarily under the increased stress of much cargo?

    looking forward to your thoughts.

I don't think this is a very common hack, so the question would be if the cure is worse than the disease. Before you do this, I would think you'd want to clean out existing cooling fan and monitor temp of the battery via OBD2 reader to establish a base case.

i think the battery suffers more from sitting all day in the hot sun, than from driving with the a/c on and the oem cooling fan operating properly. if you have to park in the sun in a warm climate, that would be my first area of attention.

when i was young, we had only a small Zenith B&W TV. No cable TV, and no A/C. If it was hot outside, you went to the shade or inside. If it was hot inside you sat in front of the fan and made noises against the rotating blades.
