I am unsure but it looks like a bumper protector. None of my customers have one so this is the first one I have seen.I am sure someone here will jump in but if not I will check in morning for info.

I bought this same item on ebay. Came quickly and looks great (easy to install about 2 mins). The print on the back of the item indicates it is for a corolla, but it fits perfectly on the '05 Prius I have....also an exact match for all door sills (if that is important to you).

I got my rear bumper protector from my local Toyota parts dept. It is listed under the Matrix, but fits the Prius nicely. About $38 if I remember. Damn if I thought I had a pic here at work, but they are on my home machine...

Speedracer, I would be happy to coordinate buying and shipping of the special Southeast Toyota bumper protector.

In fact, really, I owe you, since the mirrors got here yesterday, safe and sound, and one of them is already on!

Send me a PM if you'd like me to get one of these for you.

Speedracer, the item pictured is NOT the Matrix bumper protector. The item pictured is only available from dealers in the South East USA.

Again, let me know if you would like me to get one for you.

I have a pic of one installed in my album (see album link below my post) if it helps. We got it with a Toyota employee discount but it is still reasonably priced- I think list price is about $25 from from the dealer where I am (NC)

Part number listed on my invoice is: 00016-47015 listed as "04 Prius Bumper Protector"

That bumper protector looks good on black, but won't it look out of place on silver or any other color?

Here's a pic of a Matrix bumper protector on my '04 Prius. Works great, looks great, fits nicely. I like that it has a 'lip' that goes over the edge of the bumper.

Is that part available anywhere in the US? What did it cost you?
