    European test numbers are:

    AER: 50km
Combined FE: 1.0L/100km, 235 US mpg, 282 Imp. MPG.

The bar has been set for American owners haha.

What is interesting is that the Polish guy used the Charge mode to replenish as necessary the traction battery, when he had still 12 km of residual EV range. I was not aware that Charge mode is more efficient that HV mode...

The speeds were mostly 55 -60 kph

As a confirmed charge mode skeptic, I hope he repeats the test without that mode,
    or drives EV,HV,EV

This reminds me of the folks who drive exrta times around the block, to "improve" their mpg. There's something a little absurd, in driving a 100 kms, to conserve energy.

He wasn't trying to improve it; he was trying to prove it's possible under the right conditions. He did mention that after that test, he drove around and ended up with 2-3L/100km.

Also, he's showing that the PHV/Prime is very efficient. Even here in the US, we have owners exceeding the 25 mile/40 km stated range. (Basically almost achieving the Euro-spec 50km range. Actually @Gaëtan Lafrance almost got 50km)

I hit 50 MILES on a charge, although admittedly only once and with a 3 meter per mile drop in elevation. I easily see 35 miles (56 km) a charge when driving in town without an elevation change and over 40 miles a charge in nice weather.

By the way, there was something contrived in that video. It was just way too spiffy how he decided to charge up to 20 km of rated EV when he was 26 km from his destination and arrived almost with a perfectly depleted battery.

Regarding that "The bar has been set" video:

It's hard to tell because of the time-lapse... but it sure seems to me that NOT ONLY was he usually driving around 55-60 kph... but ALSO when he was passed (in more-or-less two-lane highway sections), the cars that passed him looked to be maintaining a good 10 to 15 to 20 kph FASTER than he was driving WELL after having already passed him. I didn't see / I couldn't read any speed limit signs, but my guess is he was driving 60-ish in 80 kph zones much of the time.

All of this Record Setting is "cute", I suppose, but I'm "good" with the 76.9 mpg / with the 3.06 l/100km I got on a 120 mile trip to-and-from Indy the other day... AND with the usually 30+ miles EV range I've been getting around town.

    Looks like a 70km/h zone.
