I feel that this issue should be separated from my other thread about my new stereo and bypassing the JVC thing.

Once I finally got the new thing working, I still have the multiple warning lights on the dash but that's nothing new.
My (yet another) issue is with the MFD,

    Symptoms:
Climate; "Check the connection to the air conditioner"
    Audio: "Audio Off" (non-issue)
Trip Info: No battery levels, no arrows
Menu: "The external system is not connected"
    Dest: Same as "Menu"
    Map: Same as "Menu"

I recently bought a virtually identical Prius to drive but I really need the '08 to work/pass inspection as it is my work vehicle.

I don't think it's a bad MFD and I hope somebody can point me in a the right direction.

    Thanks!

What ever you did, the car is no longer communicating with the MFD.
At a minimum, verify all your connections at the rear of the MFD have been plugged back in.

Thanks for the response. I'll look again.
I don't think I unplugged anything from the MFD and I left the thing plugged in and just put the MFD aside
while I worked on the stereo. I hope I missed another connector (or two) !

And have you cut into things or just tapped? Taking apart and soldered? But yeah you've definitely got to communication problem The plugs click in pretty smartly. And they can fail you for your MFD not working for inspection because I wouldn't think the check engine light would be lit for this reason.

Did the harness you used have an integrated 68Ω resistor within? If not search for 68 ohm resistor in the Audio and Accessories forum for threads that detail how to do that. The resistor is required to correctly terminate the comms bus.
