Preemptive upgrade to avert purge valve line separation addressed in T-SB-0041-15 June 30, 2015

today, I had the software in my 2012 Prius v upgraded today. It had not been upgraded in any recall as I discovered.

The upgrade was cheap at only $90 and was done in less than an hour; NO DTC codes, no mini-explosion, no destroyed evap purge valve, no need to be towed to the dealer, no wait for a replacement evap valve to be ordered, and no two to three days without a car.

Thanks to grommitoo for all the information, Peace of mind is priceless.

 

You must be special. It's not covered under warranty, except, if it's under 96 months, Toyota charged these guys over $800.
