    On August 24, my 2004 Prius (aka "Priapus") turned 7 years old.

    Here are some statistics:

    LAST YEAR
    - Miles Driven :: 12,597 miles
    - Gallons Consumed :: 206.6 gal.
    - Ave. Tank mpg :: 61.0 mpg
    - Highest Tank Ave :: 71.6 mpg (8/10 - 8/30 @ 73.7˚F)
    - Lowest Tank Ave :: 53.5 mpg (12/7 - 12/20 @ 18.2˚F)
    - Highest Ave. Temp :: 75.9˚F *
    - Lowest Ave. Temp :: 18.2˚F *

    LIFETIME
    - Total Miles Driven :: 89,817 miles
    - Total Gallons Consumed :: 1,604 gal.
    - Current Lifetime Ave. mpg :: 56.0 mpg
    - Highest Tank Ave :: 72.2 mpg (7/02/08 - 7/23/08 @ 70.6˚F)
    - Lowest Tank Ave :: 40.3 mpg (11/30/05 - 12/14/05 @ 18.8˚F)

    * Tank average temperatures are calculated by adding all the daily highs and daily lows and averaging them. It's not perfect but good enough for me.

    Mine turned 7 back in January. That is, I got it in January of 2004. It was built a couple of months earlier, so I guess it really turned 7 late in 2010. I have no statistics. I've never managed to keep track of gasoline purchases longer than about two fills in a row. My car has no name.

    That's a pretty graph! Congrats on 7 yrs of Priapus with not major problems. That's tough to beat on a first model year car.

    Don't be a dick about it!:D

    My numbers are pretty similar, but I drive a lot more, so I accrued 60k in just over 2 years.

    At this rate, I'll be in the market for a Gen IV plug in when they come out in 2014.......

    Nice stuff Tony, I quit tracking at 100k miles...out of sheer laziness and the fact that my MPG had pretty much plateaued. but that's a great year with an average of 61MPG!

    My Prius turns 8 in October. Only major issue is the inverter coolant pump failure...which cost me nothing at all to have fixed.

    Great Stats Tony!! as for me, Priuses and longevity are not synonymous for me. my 2004 got 30,000 miles, my 2006 got 54,000 so neither had problems. now i have my 2010 which i had planned to keep for quite a while but with plug in options starting to proliferate, i am not sure i can resist the temptation... my only hope is that they are priced beyond my price range

    Dave, maybe by that time I could afford to buy your blue 2010. ;)

    wow. I want to see you behind the wheel of a Gen 3. If you're 56mpg lifetime average, you must be able to pull 60mpg on the Gen 3 (and of course higher in the PHV and possibly the Prius c).

    My fuel economy numbers are very similar to Tony's, but he drives in a much more demanding Chicago environment and winter, so my hat is off.

    My car turns 7 in about two weeks, has 134k miles and only a free (to me) reprogramming on the repair sheet.

    Cheers, Prius!

    percentage wise, he could pull 120+ miles on a charge in a Leaf!
