    Hi all,

What should one expect to pay a dealer for the 90K service? The 2007 Prius in question lives in San Diego, although for logistics reasons we might have the service done in Orange County.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

The going rate for the basic 30/60/90k service is around $200, unfortunately.

On newer Toyotas, the only additional requirements of a major service is to do the engine and cabin filters, which adds about 10 mins of work and $45 in parts. If possible, I would do both filters yourself and just pay the dealer $90 for a minor service so that the entire vehicle is inspected.

At 90k, I would recommend getting the transaxle fluid drained and refilled. Many dealers are uneasy about doing this due to Toyota's statement that it is a lifetime fluid, but it is really in the best interest of your vehicle's long-term health to get this done. It is an easy service, but the dealer will charge about $125. Also, at your mileage, a throttle body service is a good idea. Do not be surprised if they come back for a rec to replace the drive belt and engine water pump as well.
