Does anyone know if it's safe to take the Prius to the beach? The Prius is sensitive and has many vent openings, and there's plenty of sand blowing around.

    It's fine.

I took it to the beach several times. One time, it was windy and one side of the Prius was covered in fine dust/sand.

Yes, it's okay to take your Prius to the beach, but make sure to wait 30 minutes after refueling before you let it go swimming.

Ha! Try parking next to a dirt road and parking in a ramp with construction. When your Prius is covered with so much dust you have to use the wipers afterward, you no longer need to ask that question.

I dealt with that for years.

Obviously, it's not a problem... though the sight of an almost always dirty car is really annoying.

If you do this a lot you'll fall under what they call severe driving conditions which require things like the air filter to be changed more often ect. FishHask

I'd make sure I hosed off the salt water and dirt right afterward--especially on the undercarriage and wheel wells.
