No. All original battery's come out and are replaced by new style cylindrical cells. All new cables and hardware. Only thing original is the Battery ECU and the relays and the sensors.

I have a NPB pack and one year old now. Working great.

    What's your DIY skills?

Anything you need to know is on there website or you can use the search forums link up top and search away.

I placed an order for replacement cells for a Gen2 Prius last month. Did I read this post correct in that you will not be able to make any deliveries until November?

@edthefox5 I'm pretty sure @Soluzon is referring to a case where a NPB eventually threw a code. (One of the earliest batches)...

EDIT-. Per post #868 a beta test battery.

Yes, that's what I was wondering i.e. what was learned from the NPB beta that threw the code? Was it an installation issue or a bad cell?

My Gen 2 with 250k miles finally threw the warning light and i'm ready to pull the trigger on your pack. Out of curiosity who is the manufacturer of your cells and what is the specific Ni-MH chemistry used? I didn't read all 46 pages but I flipped through and saw you mention that the chemistry in your cells are different than some others.

EDIT: Placed an order anyways since the lead times are so far out. Jan arrival works for me and I do like your noble cause of keeping prii out of junkyards and on the road. That's truly the most sustainable thing we can do.

Somehow I doubt 2kToaster is going to divulge manufacturer info.

I've tried to email 2kToaster through his website about a month ago, but haven't heard from him. Does anyone know if he is still around? I had placed and paid for new Gen2 battery cells in August and haven't received or heard anything from him on these batteries.

I've texted the telephone number above November 4th and this morning (12/1) but I haven't received any reply. Is there another number?

800 numbers don't accept texts. If you called their number you would have been given a text number. It is 1-910-777-7487.

When we don't have batteries in stock, we don't man the support lines as often. I have a small team that I trust to run multiple businesses of mine there in Colorado. So we are all always busy. Email is the best. When we are shut down or on vacation, it is going to take some time. Answering 100 emails asking for an update just to send out "there is no update" is not a good use of anyone's time.

But as an update! We got boxes. A few trucks dropped of many many many pallets. Now comes the sorting, testing, and packaging out. Anyone who has ordered already, your order will be sent out in the order we received it. We actually got multiple shipments (4 + extras) all at once. Yay backlogs. So we currently (as of right now) have some limited stock expected. Like reeeeeeeally limited. Next shipment not being due until January.
