    Hello,
I was just cited for no brake lights. The indicator lights are working as is the brake light in the middle of the hatchback. Prius dealer tells me whole led system needs change out at the tune of $450-500, "as it is a LED system"

This seems a little incredible, expensive, any help out there figuring this out?

Is this because I am female?

As far as I know the 2005's don't have LED brake lights. These cars tend to burn out brake light bulbs pretty quickly. I got cited for it once too. I'd try changing the bulbs first, and if that's the problem then never go back to that dealer. The bulbs are very cheap and easy to change, if you aren't comfortable doing it get a friend to help. It literally takes about 5 minutes.

    Good luck.
    Jeff
