Heres one you will all get a laugh over.

This afternoon one of our salesmen (supposed to be top Prius salesman here,we do have smarter ones ) came back in the shop and had a question. He was helping a customer who was asking a question about the Prius brakes. He ( the customer) had read on the internet that the Prius brakes are different then any other car and would last the life time of the car. He said that the info stated that after 7 mph the hydraulics were de-activated and the Prius only stopped on the regenerative braking at higher speeds. Can you believe the info some sites put out? Takes all kinds I guess,

Sounds more like he just misinterpreted the information. Since regenerative braking stops below 8mph he probably assumed that meant that hydrolic braking couldn't occur above 7mph, not realizing it can do both.

I'm sorry Mr. ABS and Mr. VSC, you are not allowed to operate since we are going over 7MPH.

    No Brakes for you! Next?

I'm still in shock that the salesman (gasp!) actually ASKED a Prius Master Technician so that he could report the correct information to his customer. Amazing.

They usually just make up some cock-and-bull story that never fails to elicit an incredulous stare from the informed consumer.

    Kudos to that salesperson! :)

In my experience with salesmen is that even going to the tech is a bit of showboating. "Look what I'll do for you". Also, he probably realized he didn't know the exact answer and that the customer had some knowledge he didn't.
