Bought the a used Prius C 2017 about 2 weeks ago and it was constantly having startup issues getting into the ready. Finally stopped being lazy and decided to figure it out. Checked oil that was fine.... and I noticed the 12V battery was @ 10.3 Volts after sitting for around 4 hours. So I decided to replace that and I noticed something....

Was Wondering If anyone knows of this cable and what it does and should I be concerned that it's disconnected. IMG20241212125330.jpg

That's the gas vent tube for the battery.

It should be plugged into a matching port on the skinny side of the 12v battery so that hydrogen released during charging gets vented overboard.
