Prius C in a Christmas movie

It's not earth shattering but it was interesting to see. We were watching the 2013 movie My Santa (TV Movie 2013) - IMDb last night and watched the lead actress drive a Prius C throughout the movie. I wondered out loud if Toyota paid for the product placement but I really think the film was too low budget for that. I'm more inclined to think the director, producer or actress just wanted to use the car. Either way it was cool to see a Prius C so prominent in a movie.
