Prius C Manufacture Date

    Hi All,

    I've read that the prius-c was slightly redesigned mid year to score better on the IIHS small overlap test:
    Latest Toyota Prius C Dubbed IIHS Top Safety Pick After Updates

    But for models made after May; Is there any way to know you're getting such a model at a dealership ? Can you request they order one (and how can you verify afterthefact).

    The VIN # for Toyota's doesn't contain the month from what I can tell, only the year.

    Check your door jam. It will give you the month it was made.
