I didn't vote, because my choice would be, If it has to do with Prius good, if it has to do with some nonesenseical stuff then it's useless.

I think we shouldn't have threads anymore, only polls.

If everything had to be practical and useful, PC FHOP polls would be tedious and likely put me to sleep.

IMO, the weirder, more f'd up a poll is, THE BETTER.

For example, I've been toying with the "would you engage in homosexual activity for $50,000" (and variations thereof) poll. Or the "What's the most valuable thing you ever stole?" poll whereas the options would be increasing dollar amounts...

Exactly, and Prius Chat is the perfect place for you to post this. Nice
I guess ,1st everyone wants to find out about the Nav lockout fix, then secondly, your price for engaging in Homosexuality. <_<

In case you failed to notice, this is FHOP... The DESIGNATED area for non-prius related entertainment for those that are sick of reading about error codes, and feel like discussing other things, this is it. It's what's called, "value added". :D

I didn't see my choice. If I don't like the polls, don't open that thread. I like some of the polls. Keeps life interesting.

    Lighten up, this is FHOP!

hmmm...not much response. guess that is to be expected since all are negative answers and people who dont like polls are unlikely to participate

I like polls, like this one. Has nothing to do with the poll or the result. Only a dumb nice person would take the results of any of these polls seriously.

These polls are sort of like stuff in an art gallery, you pass by a work on the table, express your often naive opinion, and then move on. If you answer the poll, you've had a silent moment to yourself; if you add a reply that is sort of like saying something out loud to your date.

But the Over or Under Toilet paper roll poll was quite incisive . . . Over 80% went for OVER. I don't think we could even get 80% to agree that George W. Bush is the President of the United States. :p
Yet in this poll, we agree at a rate of over 72% that Bill Merchant makes for a great distracter for any PriusChat poll.

Who says knowledge can't be gleaned from PriusChat polls?

During the age of Priuschat Enlightenment, Fred's House of Pancakes held topics that were off-topic for a car forum but still interesting to the majority of the members. I took a quick grab of the topics sitting in the "old server"
    - Gas Prices Hit $3 per Gallon in Some Areas of the USA
    - Earthquake: Yet another big one in Japan
    - 4 more explosions in London
    - 19 Million Amps...Is that a lot??
    - Intelligent Design' Gets Bush's Nod
    - Free Word Association
    - Are You Sure About Buying an Import, Man?
    - Pacific Rim nations pushing ahead of U.S. in engineering
    - Psychology of owning an SUV with higher gas prices
    - Softwood Lumber
    - international court rules again against US tariff
    - Thunderbird on Windows XP
    - Quick re-image software for Windows?
    - Downing Street memo
    - Parking Perplexities

As you can see, they are off topic but still relevant. And how is it that the vast majority of members managed to keep things relevant to the group? Simple, they asked themselves, "am I contributing to the whole with threads and polls that encompass the majority of my fellow members or am I exercising my unhinged mind with yet another knee-jerk shock-jock example of self-indulgent mental masturbation?"

The difference is that back then, their answers actually persuaded them.

This poll is slanted. Okay, so what else is new? I agree with Tony, above, that Fred's used to be more interesting, but only after you ignored the 50% of threads that were angry political face-offs. In fact, it was precisely to get those political flame wars out of the car forums that Fred's was founded. And as such it serves a useful purpose. So let the meaningless polls continue (and the meaningful ones as well). Ladies and gentlemen, ignite your flamethrowers. This is Fred's House of Pancakes. Twice as much fun as IHOP, and it's free.

    To continue the pancake theme...

I step in to my formerly favourite restaurant and see a food fight. I'm not inclined to peruse the menu, or stay for a relaxing chat. I no longer expect delicate sourdough crepes with fresh whipped cream and strawberries, because the new chefs are using flamethrowers...

Maybe somebody could open a flower shop? :)
