A loving Prius owner for just over a year now, I must admit that the Prius has to be one of the worst cars to own after the weather that came through the mid-west 3 days ago. ;) It's not the cold or the ice on the road -- it's the 2 inches of ice build up around my car that I can't get out over. :p

    Curse nature! :cussing:

Are you using the OEM tires? They rate pretty poorly. People have reported excellent snow & ice handling with the Prius using better tires. Check out THIS THREAD for a discussion of snow tires. John1701a likes the Michelin HydroEdge all-season tires and the Goodyear Triple Tread all-season is also popular among Prius Chat users.

I think he was speaking to the low ground clearance. They got a lot of snow in a short period of time! My daughter had trouble with her Ford Escort scraping bottom a few time and it has much better ground clearance. I have scraped a few times going down a steep drive to the road.
