Seattle area meet sometime between June 21 and 29th?

Anyone up for a mini meet? What would be cool is folks w/toys like PHEV kits, CAN-view, Nissan Leafs, Chevy Volts or other unique cars. I live in the Eastside. I'd imagine that weekends would work best for everyone. I wouldn't want anyone to drive REALLY far (including myself) just to make it...

JimboPalmer from the posts below says he'll be in the area.
As a side note, I will be moving back to CA in mid-July.

I can come to the meet with my Leaf. I prefer weekends ... and a nice coffee shop.

Cool! Funny enough, I briefly met evnow at a Prius v showing.

Hope we can get a few more folks. There sure are enough Priuses and Leafs in the area.

Weekend of 24th to 26th works for me.

Nice coffee shop? Any preference? I'd prefer one w/free wi-fi so I can show people a couple cool apps on my iPad 2. :) Tour Wrist® is very cool!

Oh.. it's 24-26 now? I thought it was this weekend lol.

I'm busy on the 25th, 24th works best for me and 26th, I have a lunch appointment but I am free afterwards (but it will take me a few hours to get to Seattle so I'll be there mid afternoon at the earliest).

avoid city of Seattle on June 25th until 3 pm or so

From the local news earlier tonight Closures trigger traffic nightmare; more back-ups Sunday - KCPQ
From doing some digging at SEATTLE AREA CONSTRUCTION LOOK AHEAD and » Seattle: Road Closures Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series it looks like the closures in Seattle will be from 6 am to 3 pm.

There are plenty of other cities to have a meet. :)

Cwerdna, pick a coffee shop near you and 405 and either 520 or 90 so evnut can come across a bridge. Tideland and I will be coming from the north, so near 405 helps us. (Vancouver and Bellingham, we could carpool)

Rae, I will be in Shelton/Schafer State Park/Montesano near the first, but I am at my sister's wedding and not sure I have free time.

    Evnut? Evnow?

Anyway, below are some possibilities that aren't far for me. They all should have decent free parking (unsure about Factoria Village II, haven't been there in awhile). Feel free to shoot them down or suggest others. I know some people dislike Starbucks.

2020 148th Avenue Northeast, Redmond, WA - in a strip mall next to a Sprint Store and Quiznos, across the street from Taco Bell

1645 140th Avenue Northeast, Bellevue, WA - is across the street from Noble Court which used to be (haven't been there in a long while) a good Chinese restaurant and dim sum place, but a bit pricey for dim sum. I believe this is the correct address for the Starbucks not inside Safeway (I can call to confirm).

15000 Northeast 24th Street, Redmond, WA - connected to a Safeway

Factoria Village II, 3720 SE 128th Street, Bellevue, WA 98006 - there are TWO in this strip mall. I believe this is the one closest to the street judging by Starbucks in Seattle. I don't recall how the parking is there.

If we decide to do Sunday, the 26th at Alderwood Mall, that's near the 405. :)

I like the Starbucks Lodge location at Bellevue Square Mall which has a fireplace but it's not a good location if we want to check out each other's gadgets and cars as there are multiple parking structures and levels and everyone will likely be parked in totally different locations.

Here is the best idea to meet - come to GreenWood Car Show on 25th (Saturday). A lot of cars will be there - including 30 EVs (Seattle Electric Vehicle Association members), including my Leaf. I'm sure a few Plug-in Priuses apart from Tesla and many conversions (and a Volt too).

Greenwood Car Show 2011 - Home

We will be on the 83rd st.

Wow. I was unaware of this. Unfortunately, if it's the 25th, that means Tideland won't be able to make it. I hope he's not coming down all the way from BC just to meet with us (just like I likely wouldn't drive all the way to Vancouver BC to be there for a few hours.)

Hmm, I worry that it'll be yet another place of traffic gridlock and no place to park, judging by the pictures on the site. I might try to make it to this event, regardless of whether our meet is there. Might mean having to take the bus though.

Wow. That's some dedication. For me, it's almost 3 hours one way to get to Vancouver BC. When I've gone up, I've usually preferred to have some reason to go (e.g. Star Trek convention and scouting BSG/V filming locations) and stay a night.

Hope we can get a bigger turnout. There are so many Priuses around here. It seems that fuzzy1 probably lives somewhat near me and IIRC, there are a few others in/around Western WA who aren't too far.

Rae's a bit far and DaveinOlyWA would definitely need a change if he drove his Leaf to my neck of the woods.

Yes - there will be some traffic gridlock. But it would be a unique opportunity to see a lot of EVs and talk to the owners.

I can come over on 26th - if it is just a few of us, my coffee shop suggestion would be Victor's on Redmond Way (bring cash for the coffee !).

Well Saturday is the only option for me. There is a lot of charging options so that is not likely to be an issue. The car show would be nice. Is there admission? Charging?
