I bought a large orca cooler, and installed a trailer hitch receiver to hold a cargo platform.
On road trips, I store the cooler on the cargo platform. It seems that the exhaust from my Prius is melting my orca cooler. Has anyone experienced this or come up with any solutions to prevent it?

    thanks

Extend the exhaust tip a few inches further downward and/or make a heat shield that mounts on the cargo rack. Something needs to deflect or relocate the exhaust.

Is the cooler as big as the tray sticking out the back of your one and a quarter hitch so it must be quite big usually the coolers kicked over to one side where the exhaust isn't but I guess this is a big old long thing you know one of those I don't know 150 gallon 200 gallon jobs or something It's like near 5 ft long

can you take a pic from further back so we can see the whole setup, and one defining the cooler and the exhaust tip?
