You can dump $7,000 into a custom-turbo and you probably won't even beat a V6 Accord. Shortly put, this is the wrong car if you want to pull anything close to 14s on the 1/4 mile.

I can tell you that my Prius is probably slower than a stock Prius because of all the modifications (added weight). Heh..

Beat people on the curves with some tire upgrades. Apex, apex, apex.

Yeah... I've said it before... If you want fast... Get an Evo. Absolutely the cheapeast way to get a fast car. Plus it'll do the groceries and seat five. I've seen an Evo pull a 9.75 on the 1/4 mile. Gonna get one of them soooon... heh, all the money i'm saving from gas with the Prius will goto that. Yay!

No dont get an evo they are way too expensive, and if you sneeze on the engine it voids the warranty. 89 lx notch $3500, hellion turbo kit $4500= low 11's.

Measuring performance with only a dyno and a chronometer is so Twentieth Century.

Ok, assuming you want an honest answer.

Do the opposite. Strip the rear seats, replace the front seats with recaros (or sparcos) and just copy the SCCA Prius. It has wedsport 17s on slicks, a rollcage... I'm sure it has front and rear braces.

If you're technical enough, replace the engine with the one from the Echo. It's the same engine but runs on the Otto cycle instead so you do get more power (Toyota got 143hp from its Prius GT).

Doing the aforementioned mods will drop it to 8 secs to 60 (That's Toyota's time for the Prius GT). Other than that, replace the front suspension with a lighter set for sure. It is quite nose-heavy. Replace the rear hatch with a CF frame and plexiglass, remove the spare tyre, box, tonneau cover, floor etc.

    Anything else?
