Hey I'm having a bleep of a time trying to find compatible wiper blades. They have the 28" and the 14" in stock, but the connector is wrong, and I can't find any wipers with that narrow corrector, but I'm not sure what it's called. Does anyone know of a compatible wiper? I have a Prius Prime 2018. Thanks
I'm going to assume that those are the stock OEM wiper blades. You can buy the replacement rubber inserts through the dealership or do a parts search using the OEM part number for after market rubber. They are pretty standard commercial rubber inserts, since I replaced mine with commercial silicone bus, tractor trailer inserts. If someone replaced the entire wiper blade assembly, non-OEM standard; good luck. You'll probably need to replace the entire wiper blade assembly again. My OEM blade assembly has a slot about 1/4-1/2 inch from the edge of the blade, to slip the rubber replacement out and slip the new one in. My neighbor's 2018 Camry has a different blade assembly with stainless steel (SS) backbone stiffeners that you needed to put onto your OEM replacement blade rubber; while mine was a simple slip-in - No SS backbone. Hope this helps.....
Hey Thanks for the reply, I'm having my wife go to the Toyota Dealership, since I can't find any wipers that have the right narrow connector piece. I have to assume to that Toyota will, so that's the best I can do, I think. I've been to Canadian Tire, and Part Source, and they don't have compatible wiper blades. This is the connector I need, the third one down: https://hallsautospares.ie/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/wiper-adapter.jpg I don't know what that connector is called.
Not sure; but that looks like my neighbors 2018 Camry blades with the SS-backbone. Mine is the first picture, but you should be able to just replace the rubber itself - not that entire assembly. It just slips in - refer to your operating manual for that procedure and make sure you place a towel or 2x4 on your windshield; in case that wiper assembly snaps-back. People have broken their windshield that way. That would be an expensive mistake for a $10 wiper blade. Good Luck....
That connector is what broke, so I need the entire assembly, which is what is causing my headache, but thanks for the responses
For future reference; DO NOT do that in the cold. The plastic is brittle, so heat it up with a hair dryer and you should be able to remove it without breaking it. Dittto with installing it - it has more 'give', softer when warm. You gotta remember that unit gets really hot in the summer heat.
