My local independent used car dealer suddenly showed up with 15 Teslas in the front of the lot and I wonder why? Usually there are pickups there.

EVs have a learning curve and everyone, including used car dealers, are entitled to one too. My first PHEV, a 2014 BMW i3-REx was bought from a used car dealer and my second, a 2017 BMW i3-REx from a Toyota dealer. They laughed at me as I drove home smiling as fast as I could. But I don't worry about it anymore.

I've got mine and put just under 20,000 miles on the 2017 BMW in the first year. Miles I didn't have to put on my FSD Tesla. The Tesla that yesterday drove me and the dogs to a new rifle range and back. Always best to have the right tool for the right job.

Anymore, I provide facts and data for those who need them.

One good/bad thing about electric vehicles - most EV's submerged in flood waters would have probably exploded or burst into flames(though apparently some can take weeks or even months before this occurs -after drying out).

You are certainly right to caution buyers about the current situation:

the only learning curve i can see is long distant travel and charging options, vs gas up and go.

This actually makes a lot of sense. “Prime” would imply it is the “best” model, but with PHEV and EV, there are different considerations for different scenarios, one is not necessarily better than the other, it all depends on each person’s situation and preferences. So aligning to industry standards makes sense.

Now, I wonder if Toyota will offer a free badge swap to ‘23 & ‘24 Prime owners in North America to standardize the market… ;) Yeah, I doubt it, but interesting idea that crossed my mind... I still like Prime.

It’s kind of like when Ford’s best was a Galaxy 500 back in the space age sixties. Where do you go from best in the Galaxy? They went to LTD, a not so Limited designator.
