Congrats on your new Prime !!!!

Back in January when we went to the dealership the only 2020 Prius Prime XLE in the entire southeast region at that time was "Blizzard white" and we wanted "Magnetism Blue" so we had to do a factory order.

It's not only that we wanted "Magnetism Blue" but we figured white would be hard to keep clean looking, especially during the times of the year when the pollen is bad, during those high pollen times a white car would look yellow from the pollen :D

The Toyota web site goes by your zip code for what's available in your area:

    2020 Toyota Prius Prime Savings

Alternative Fuels Data Center: State Laws and Incentives

Other than that I'd call several different local dealerships to see if they all tell you the same thing.

No way of knowing in advance, but 6/1 is only 3 days from today. If you already have spoken with a dealer, you could try closing it before. OTOH, they are not selling much cars right now, Toyota may continue the rebate into next month. The rebate ends when inventory depletes or new model comes in, neither is happening now.

So the $3500 rebate for NJ ends on Monday. I haven’t read the entire thread, but it seems like this is the biggest rebate ever offered for a current model year? I saw $4000 for 2017 models in early 2018, but not for the current year. I was just wondering if it’s worth taking the gamble to see if they offer more on Tuesday.

iirc, it was 5k early on. no idea if we'll ever see that again. it's all based on how many toyota has to sell for carb credits in cali, and truck sales out there may be a little slow right now, idk.

Tempting isn't it? But what I have seen are that if the Toyota's rebate goes up, dealer discount decrease by similar amount. Overall sales price stays somewhat constant. When I bought 2017 PRIME, the Toyota rebate was $3000, and dealer discount was $2600. I just bought 2020 PRIME. The Toyota rebate was $3500, but the dealer discount was only $2000 this time.

I got a dealer discount of $2750. I’m thinking based on this thread that $2750 + $3500 is a really good deal!

I’m thinking it’s ‘cause gas is cheaper than electric right now. But even if I never charge it, it’s still cheaper than the non-plugin even before the rebate, ‘cause of the tax credit! And gas is for sure gonna get expensive again and I’ll be happy I have the option to plug in. That’s what I love about plug-ins!

Local Toyota dealer where I bought my PRIME in Feb, did not have any regular Prius in stock, but had 12 PRIMES. If you can live with a smaller cargo space, at least in our region, there is no reason to buy regular Prius, unless you absolutely have to have eAWD.

I haven't checked other regions, but for New England Toyota dealers, $3500 rebate for 2020 PRIME has been extended to 7/6.

    Hello,

Are these incentives regional? Living in Chicagoland I have not seen any cash back or rebates for the 2020 Prius Prime. Only a 0% for 36 month finance option.

The dealers I am dealing with are quoting me MSRP and telling me that they have no “discounts”. It is killing me to see what the latest posts here are showing deal-wise.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes, Toyota rebates are regionally managed. Historically, Toyota heavily incentivized regions with CARB states. New England and NY/NJ have been offered the best rebates. If you read back this tread, you will see many people traveled from other region to purchase PRIME where the larger rebates are offered and inventories are plentiful. However, with COVID-19 situation, air traveling maybe difficult. You may have to do some research to find dealer willing to close the deal on-line and ship the car for fee. That may or may not be suitable for your purchasing situation.

holy smokes good job.. here in Utah I doubt they'll even budge from the MSRP. But you got a steal.. prices are near $35k here.

I'm waiting for the 2021 model (also praying for Android Auto).. if there is a 2021 model.. I'm a little worried that it there won't be due to low sales..
