Correct. That's why I have very good insurance coverage. I know, it's better not to get into an accident in the first place, but then I don't think all the safety features in the world are going to prevent every accident on the road. I can be super careful and drive a car with the best safety features, but the car in the next lane may be driven by an idiot. So far, I have not been in an accident with or without having the blind-spot monitor. The point is, the risk is low enough for me to justify not paying $6k more for the PP Limited over the LE. And I am sure that more than 1% of drivers on the road feel the same way.

After experiencing Toyota's BSM in my Rav4 Prime - I was not impressed.
LE is best Prius Prime model by far. Real buttons for HVAC and Android Auto, non-sweaty cloth seats - plus $3-6k in your bank account!

One of my favorite "upgrade" features is Rear Cross Traffic Alert... especially with the proliferation of humongous SUVs that most parking lots are teeming with (*&%$)! They may be the mainstay of suburban soccer moms but are definitely the bane of a normal or compact vehicle owners when backing out from an "SUV Box Canyon" (arrrrgh)!

Perhaps it's my paranoia of the morons zipping through parking lot lanes at roadway speeds, but I do love my RCTA (and I find the front/rear/side sensors to be quite helpful). The bottom line for me is that of the many additional features, granted some of which are a lukewarm MEH, all-in-all are worth it to me (of course, YMMV).

Android Auto yes (however, I don't know how well it works on the Prius Prime LE), seats mostly a preference, why would you need real buttons for A/C, but there are many downgrades with it, not to mention the important safety issue of lack of auto-on lights on the LE trim. Even little things like the garage-door opener and head-up display on my Limited come very handy. The automatic-braking bumper sensors already saved me $5,000, and the Limited trim has paid for itself. BSM and RCTA might already have prevented collisions as well.

How are you not impressed? Toyota BSM works very well.

There are alternatives to avoid blindspots.
A combination of rear and side mirror adjustment should cover the blindspot.
Or just buy a wide angle panoramic rear mirror work as well.
I personally dont trust anything related to electronic system. What if it it faulting giving out a fault sensing?
I personally trust my panoramic mirror mire than the blindspot system.

OK, you don't trust electronics, but how do you see a dark car in your blind spot that forgot to turn its lights on at night without having the blind-spot radar? It happened to me several times. It could also be the same situation in dense fog, and you live in arguably the foggiest city in the US (I know because I lived in that area). Would you trust pilots landing planes without electronics such as automatic landing systems, altitude sensors, etc.?

"Real buttons for A/C" was a big, big issue for me and my husband too. The lack was our #1 beef with our 2005 Prius (still in the family, 200K+ miles).

I believe some people feel equally passionate about cupholders.

All of a sudden, inventories are flooded with Prius Primes. With the federal tax incentive gone, no one is buying them anymore.

I wonder when they are going to start selling 2023s.

yes they do seem like it. Picking my red 2022 up this afternoon. ..If the leaks were accurate I'm glad I got in "under the wire" for the change.... Doesn't matter though ...I'm committed.

When I put down a deposit on June 6th I was originally thinking Limited but he told me they hardly ever came in so I went with the xle. I was tempted to go with the LE because of the android auto and the smaller screen but the seat comfort was the deal breaker . Picked it up this afternoon and the color is gorgeous but everything shows...my fingerprint smudged it right away LOL. So I think this may be the first car that I hose down ...I'm a low maintenance kind of girl. My son told me this is my middle age sports car..racy red ! As for the tax credit we will see if the IRS will accept the $500 deposit contract prior to the August law being signed...I did get the CT 750 rebate right at the dealership. But my greedy state taxes it so it's really less. Any amount helps though!

so with the recent availably of the Prime, my assumption is that offer price for the used Prime is not as good as it used to be from online dealer such as Carvana?

Probably. You can check by inputting your VIN and info to get an offer.
It is best to make a spreadsheet and track offers, if you're into that. I believe used prices have been starting to fall over the last 1-3 months already. New model probably won't help.

However... on 1/1/23 a provision in the IRA (inflation reduction act) allows up to a $4k tax credit for USED EV/PHEVs - but only on vehicles up to $25k, and sold by a dealer. So some older vehicles may get a slight bump in value...

for whatever reason, the Prius Prime seems to be down to a more reasonable sticker price !!! but the bottom line IMO it is a stretch for me to get a (limited selection/model) PHEV or just get a Camry H. for the kids... I lean over the fence with 23 CamryH LE and the MPG is quite attractive. Unless the selection of Prime in the Bay Area is improved in the next couple of weeks, I will chalk them off and move on.

when I type sticker price, I mean whatever the stealers printed -including the favorite dealer markup (!!!) on the window.

Yes: the Prime availability is there and I can see a reasonable markup (nowhere near when I got my 20 Prime )... but it is still far from what I would pay!
