Here's a good one for Prime experts. Does anyone know the specs for the 2022 Prius Prime tow hook? i. e. metric thread size etc?

no idea. sorry. I do know that my 2011 gen3 has a completely different bolt diameter and threads from my 2017 plugin. They are not compatible parts. I have used these on both cars, multiple times.

I'll try posting this again in this forum. I am carrying a fishing boat on the roof with a rack and I need 4 towing eyelets to rope down the forward and aft. I don't want to use the Toyota eyelets since they stick out too far from the bumpers. I am trying to match them to regular bolts. Does anyone know the bolt and thread size of the OEM towing eyelets for a 2022 Prime? It's not in the manual- it's not on this site. There must be a set of numbers like "20mm x 100mm" out there in the universe written down on paper somewhere. I can't travel to Japan to ask a tech rep in person. So any info here would help.

Try bringing the tow hook to a fasteners store. They'll probably be able to tell you that info for you and have the bolt you want.

It's an M20. But the thread pitch is 3 not 2.5 . Doesn't exist -that why Toyota makes them that size.

It's an M20 diameter with a pitch of British #8 thread size. Does not exist. But if I could find someone who has a tap bit that can cut a #8 thread into a M20 blank bolt, I got it.

Even though the price of the tow lugs is not trivial, I’d guess it’d be cheaper than machining-from-scratch, to just buy four of them, cut them shorter and weld on something like a chain link?

Or just live with the excessive projection?
