Prius production slowing down?

    I'm on a 3-month waiting list for a pkg#6 with 2 months still to go.
    I called my dealer today to get an update and he says "good thing you got in when you did,
    I was going to call you...". He tells me that Toyota is reducing Prius production by
    a third for the first quarter of 2006 because of Camry parts allocation. So the wait for
    newcommers is now 4 to 6 months!

    Is this a hype tactic or is it based on facts?

    I'm already tired of waiting, maybe I should explore the broker route?

    this was announced in late Dec or early January of this year and was posed here on PC.

    Yeah, it's temporary just so that they can make inventory for the Camry as the Prius shares the same plant.
