Just returned with my Prius from my Toyota dealer having had the brake problem (which I have to say I have not actually experienced) corrected by a software update which took about 20 minutes to complete. While there I saw a chart outlining vehicle recalls by manufacturer in the two year period January 2008 to February 2010. Toyota had 4 recalls; Honda 5; VW 6; Vauxhall 7; Renault 9; BMW 9; Fiat 12; Nissan 15; Ford 16; Peugeot 27; Citroen 33; Mercedes Benz 40! Yes 40. Puts things into perspective, don't you think.

You figured Renault or Peugeot would have higher numbers.

Mercedes will never get rid of that Chrysler stank. It just lingers. ;)

I'm sure they will. Their latest C-Class feels quite solid. The E-Class too but not as much, oddly enough (esp. considering it's more expensive than the C-Class).
