Was booked to fly South via Chicago when bad weather closed O'Hare. No other flights in our region (Vermont). Looked grim. The United agent found a flight from Newark, NJ that would get us to our destination just 4 hours later than scheduled. The whole family jumped in our new 2007 Prius and hit the road. On the way, my sons rocked out on their IPODs connected to the sound system and my wife used the BT phone connection to call our travel insurance company for advise. Then we hit Newark and were completely lost. We engaged TRINITY (my boys name for the Nav system) and she had us in airport parking in 10 minutes. Made it home the following weekend and think I spent maybe 35 bucks on gas total. man I love this car!!!

Gee, why bother to fly? You should have just driven the car all of the way.

Having Priapus has definitely extended my cost-point driving radius. My folks live 375 miles from me. When I drive down, my dad is always impressed that I still have more than a quarter tank of gas remaining.
Airfare there and back for two: more than $250.
Driving there and back for two: about $30.
