    Hi All,

I'm looking for a 3rd party shop to do general work on a Prius, 2008. Anyone using one near Torrance CA?

    Thanks
    Scott

I am wondering if she took the car on a longer drive every once in a while, that could improve the battery life.
I have a 2007, with 96k on it - still the same battery - I did change the tires at 50k, and still the original brakes

Thanks Desmond.. and while I agree, I'm looking for Prius Shops in the Torrance area, not trying to fix old problems. I do think the deep cycle batteries need to be charged a bit more than 5-10 min a day.. and I will mention this to her.

Don't be too hard on the dealer. The battery could be bad it's 5 years old and not driven enough to fully charge it. As for the tires - hitting a curb can destroy the alignment. 25K was all I got on my 2008 tires.

So what, there are no 3rd party shops that do work on Prius's ?? Glad I don't live near Torrance, CA. My Boulder guy - Boulder Hybrids, is great - how come no places like this near Torrance, CA?

Check Reinvolts Installers List and Check www.Fixhybrid.com qualified shop list. Hope this helps.

Scott, What dealer is she currently going to? If it's Torrance Toyota on PCH, then run!! They replaced rear brakes on my wife's Sienna a few years ago and the brakes fell out into the drums... on both sides! I don't know of any non-dealer shops but I take my prius to South Bay Toyota on Western Ave. It's on the north east side of Torrance. It might be a bit farther to go depending on where she lives but they're good.

I think that is the one, but not positive. Never a good experience for her. Thanks for the reply.

Could you please share the name/location of the shop Avi recommended, and if you used the shop were you happy with results?

    Thank you,
    John

Nothing in the Torrance area. I'm sure there are places but I have not found any yet.
