Prius trade in for lease?

    I am considering trading in my 2005 prius since I have had some difficulty trying to sell it privately and leasing another vehicle. I am just wondering if anyone has insight as to how this works since the trade in value of the prius will be significantly higher than the total lease cost of another car over 36 months. Thank you
