So I'm pretty much a complete newbie to the world of setting up DIY audio. With that being said, I may need some help/advice. I just purchased a 2012 Prius v and plan on dynapadding the doors for sound dampening, as well as a change to quieter tires. But, I also want to upgrade the sound system. My prius' current setup is the simple stock "non JBL" system. My plan was to add the following components based on good reviews from others:

    JBL MS-8 MS
    2 x Infinity Reference 9633cf 6 x 9s
    2 x 6.5" Infinity REF-6500CX
One Pair of Infinity Reference 1031t 1" tweeters

So... my questions are: Will this work and work/sound well? Will the stock head unit and MS-8 be enough to power this setup? Is this an EZ setup (although I do plan on having this professionally installed)? Will this in any way endanger or compromise my Prius battery?

Your thoughts will be highly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Several have installed amps with speaker level inputs and new door speakers successfully. The tweeters are usually left stock because it appears a lot of the dash would have to be removed. Less expensive amps would probably do the job as well. If it were me I would spend the extra money to have a shop install it and I certainly would search for the previous threads. It seems the speaker sizes might be a little non-standard, perhaps riveted in, and depth might be limited, but that's just a recollection that could be verified. Nevertheless I know some have done it on their own.
