Prius v (lower case for the Prius v wagon.................) - 2015 versus 2016 Oil Change schedule?

    Hello

    I was just on the Toyota Service website and I noticed that oil change intervals for 2015 is at 5000 miles and for 2016 it is at 10000 miles. Did anyone else notice this? What chanted? Was the 5000 Mile interval overkill in the past?

    At least since 2012 v, it is 10,000 for full synthetic in normal service.

    However, 5k for normal "mineral" oil or for full synthetic in "severe" service (perhaps taxi or extremely hot/dusty).

    Are you sure it's for oil change and not for "maintenance"? The brakes, fluids, etc are checked every 5k in addition to tire rotation.

    Prius v (lower case for the Prius v wagon yet again, it's all over, but you appear to be in denial) 2015, say change oil at 5000 mile intervals on Service, 1, 2 and 3. but on the 2016, only change oil on Service 2 and 3 which is in 10000 mile intervals. 2012 to 2015 was always Synthetic with 5000 mile intervals.

    This is why I found it strange.

    You're right, the checking of the fluids is every 5000 miles, but the oil change is different for the 2016.

    The pic I attached is from a 2012 v manual and it says 10k miles. Are you in the US?

    If they don't fill in their location, they always get wrong answers. It should not be optional.

    I know Canada went from 8,000 km to 16,000 km in 2016, but I have no idea what nations still use miles that changed.

    I am in Canada. This is probably the difference. I just converted to miles to make it easier for everyone.

    I wonder why 2015 vs 2016 in Canada is different.
