I saw this car at the park on my street in South Burlington on Sunday. I was wondering if it belongs to anyone here. I would have left a note on the windshield for a 'mini meetup' but I am WAY over busy this week.

We had considered getting a vanity plate (it's possible to get a combination vanity plate and Clean Fuel plate) when we traded in our Honda CR-V (VA tag CYBRNUT), but the wait could have been as much as two months.

For a Virginia tag to have 7 letters (as in LESSGAS), it couldn't have been a Clean Fuel plate - they are limited to 6 characters, to allow room for a clean fuel logo/symbol. And while I'm sure there are many hybrids in Virginia without Clean Fuel plates, for anyone wanting to use the HOV lanes without the otherwise required number of occupants, Clean Fuel plates are a must-have.

As an aside, a story in the Post this week noted that Virginia has the highest number of vanity plates in the country - some 1.4 million. We had CYBERNUT, and we had DANZNFT on our '91 Previa, and we still have ZUKEYPR on our Sienna.

Personally, the vanity plate I'm really looking forward to is some variation on RETIRED! And that won't mean I just put new tires on the car!! :D

I didn't think you could have a vanity plate with the clean fuel logo. I thought clean fuel plates had to end in CX or CF in Virginia.

Nope. They just need to display the clean fuel logo.

I've been searching for combinations to use when I get my clean fuel plate. Some good ones are still available. I expect to have my Prius within the next week.

Here's the plate I have on my Jetta (which I'm giving to my daughter).

Are you getting it from Ourisman in Chantilly?

No. Miller in Manassas. I placed my deposit on 4/21, when you could still go $500 below MSRP. Got the VIN number last Friday. Delivery expected in the next few days.

At the time I bought, Ourisman also would have given me $500 off (through Costco), but Miller has a lower "processing fee." I also had a great experience with my test drive at Miller. My salesman, "Toyota Sam" Lee, was very knowledgeable. I had been reading lots on PriusChat before my test drive. I knew what kind of questions to ask to test the salesman. I didn't even have to ask the questions. He had all the correct answers without being asked.

Good. I wasn't happy with my experience.

My daughter is getting my hand me down car as well later this year when she starts driving.

I had a bad feeling about Ourisman when I spoke to the salesman on the phone.

I'm glad to be handing down my Jetta. It's been a great car for 10 years and 102K miles and still gets 30MPG. It will be good to still have it in the family. My 16-year-old is thrilled to have it. Boys are impressed by the fact she learned how to drive on a manual transmission!

Mine is 15 and will get a Saturn. I hoping it doesn't get any boys attention

Me, too. I bought our '91 Previa from them ... went back a couple of years ago and traded in the Previa for a Sienna - same salesman ... "Hash." So when we looked at the Escape Hybrid and weren't impressed, and decided to check out the Prius, we headed to Miller. Great test drive, no pressure, no haggling - Hash just said, this is the invoice, this is the MSRP, and this is what we can sell it to you for. At the time (March), that price was about $1300 off MSRP, and we were sold. Only took 17 days for our red fireball (or red firefly, according to my wife), to be delivered.

Yeah, if I had started my serious buying expedition a little sooner, I could have saved some money. Oh well, still happy to be getting the deal I got.

you can sometimes get a discount through the internet. I talked to a salesman there, then emailed the internet guy at the same dealership. The salesman said sticker price was it. I got $500 off from the internet guy. They also forgot to charge for the mats, so another $100 off.

I just go to the dealers website. They will sometimes have the internet purchase info there.

There is a very long thread about Miller Toyota under "dealers and pricing"

    http://priuschat.com/New-2006and39s-and036...-DC-t16572.html

People seemed to be very happy with Sarah Baumgartner (703-396-5026; 1-800-519-7042). At one point Miller was offering more than $2K off MSRP. Apparently, from an update (April 27th) to the first message in the thread, that is no longer the case.

I looked at their online inventory yesterday, and they had one Prius - this morning, none are listed.
