Having now owned 2 2004 prius and now a Smart, I have to say that I am happy with the Smart.

Since it is only me 90% of the time, the smart is great, I am getting 44.2 MPG in city, tank last me a month.

The Non CVT of the Smart has a much quicker feel

Miss the fabric seat material in the prius however the seats in the Smart are great for my back.

Love the headlights in the Smart much brighter.

The size on the road is not a issue feels like any other compact.

The AC dosent pull when used on the Smart cant feel it at all.

with all said and done i will keep this till i can afford a 2010 prius or i win the lotto ;)

More so with people than cars, but it helps. ;)

My family calls smart cars 'smarties'. They should come only in solid candy colours, and have a big S on top.

We have a bunch of the "car2go" Smarts around Austin and here by the university. Have seen several running around as well, must be selling well here. Only thing I saw as odd, it requires premium gas? That sure would bring your cost per mile up. I would think they would be "smarter" to lower the compression and supercharge/turbo charge it. Maybe they don't have the room for added equipment tho.

I desperately want a fully loaded convertible Smart with the suspension package. I have no justification for it, other than I have always had a thing for really small cars. I lusted after the Honda 600 coupe when it came out in the early 1970's, visiting the dealership almost daily and wanting to trade off my Cougar XR-7 (but they wouldn't deal). The smart is the modern equivalent, although the Honda did have a back seat. How I would haul a grandkid is beyond me. Trailer with car seats, maybe? Hmmm....

The passenger seat can take a child seat. There's a LATCH anchor and an occupant detection system (to turn off the airbag)

The headlights are much brighter and if you ever try the model with the foglights, they're a LOT better than the Gen 2 Prius' foglights.

No can do. Polycarbonate roof disallows that.

Like I said, no roof racks :D.

Also that's the 1st generation smart (ok.. 1.5 actually since the 1.0 is from 98 to 03). It doesn't have a polycarbonate roof. It's either steel or glass.

wow.. that's cheap! My 15,000km was Cdn$225. It's the "Service A" or oil change. My 30,000km (20,000 mile) Service B would've cost closer to Cdn$400!

Ahh well, I only had to do one oil change before I sold it. It is done at the MB dealership after all.
