PRIUSchat -- what happened to the ads -- are they no more? -- is that the trouble with site issues?

So, this morning, was having trouble getting onto the site, as was everyone, but the few times I reached an actual page, there was some strange potato ad floating all around the page.

But, now that things are back to "normal" I see no ads on the pages whatsoever.

    Strange.

Is the morning problem connected to problems with ads...

Huh, they must know I have no $$$. No ads at all -- there is a 12" X 3" blank spot at the bottom of my pages, though.

I have a Nissan ad at the top of this page as I'm typing, and the usual grid at the bottom of mostly PC links. Also, "weather tech" and "chevy truck" in @bisco 's post are links to other sites.

Looks normal to me right now and it's really snappy once again.

Huh, strange. I have FireFox, which just updated today. And my AV program is Avast. Other than that, I am not doing anything special to block ads.

Know I am not complaining at all about having no ads....And, things are working perfectly....well, as long as Moderators don't notice that I am a freeloader.

I usually use Firefox, but am trying to migrate to Safari because Firefox has become such a CPU hog lately, especially on this site. You'd think I was rendering a 4K video the way the fans run when I'm on PC using Firefox.

FF is using an average of 5.1 percent of my CPU at the moment. But I have a total of five totally different sites open, including PRIUSchat.

what does it mean when the whole page is messed up? words in the wrong places, some overlaying others, missing graphics, etc?

On my Mac, FF uses about 8-20% of the i-7 on PC with a couple other tabs open. Close PC and it drops to about 3%. Running about 4% now in Safari with three PC tabs and two others. I have no idea what Mozilla did to the program. Or maybe it's one of my plugins. Oh well, I will adapt. :D

I think that's part of the database problem. When it was really bad this AM, I'd get that or else just a blank screen saying there was an unexpected database error. there were a variety of scrambles, too.
