Problematic features that I don't need or want on Toyotas

    You even have and can't avoid these features on a new base model?







    That's why I keep and older Toyota that don't have these features as long as possible.

    I buy GMCs.
    As close to base model as I can get by with.
    No IMEI number.
    No CVT.
    No 'passive entry.'

    To be fair to Toyota, their forward facing cameras are not the only ones that require a recalibration after a windshield replacement, but their cars in particular ARE more susceptible to getting windshield dings in the first place because of their low roof-line.
    Also - most vehicles manufactured these days have some form of direct fuel injection and electric power steering.

    Blame the Climate Industrial Complex and CAFE, NOT Toyota.

    ALSO...Toyota's electronics use edible wiring insulation which can cause electrical issues for non-cat owners or people who have to park outside.
    HOWEVER (comma!!!)
    THIS isn't a Toyota-only problem EITHER....

    I'm no fan of Toyota's corporate culture, and their US dealership network is quite horrible....but many of their car problems are NOT limited to the folks in Aichi.
