I am having trouble doing something that should be simple, playing music from flash drive. It reads the USB but says there are no supported audio files on the USB. I have reformatted to make sure it is fat32 format. My ipad works with my music files, why won't the USB read my music. It is the same music on the ipad.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up just copying songs from the albums. Then it read all the songs. Good luck

Are they in mp3 format? I have 1,166 songs on a flash drive, and it works just fine. I just wondered if it can't read the Itunes format.

The Prius system will not read .m4a format - which is the default format that iTunes converts to when importing music. If you are just copying those files over to the USB, then they will not play.

I just downloaded a freeware audio convertor to convert files back to .mp3's.

Probably easier to just download the mp3 files.

Yes it is. And that's what I have done for several years - since I've had a vehicle that doesn't read .m4a's. I have music from before then, though.
