You should probably not even bother with putting anything on the bus bars. It doesn't come from the factory with anything on it

they also want you to replace the whole pack for 3-4 grand whenever a code is thrown

That happens in about 10 years.

But corrosion doesn't take ten years, and if something does come up this can be easily ruled out if preventative measures are taken.

I had a battery pack that was purchased in 2010 from Toyota, installer put dialectric grease on the main connectors. So far it seems to be performing nicely at 8 years old. But my 2010 Prius without any dialectic grease, also is performing flawlessly (although it seems to be a bit weak). Corrosion "might" be a contributing factor to a battery failing, but it's failure is probably due to time and deterioration of the battery cells.

So I don't really see the benefits and you would need many many examples to get proper data.

This is always my first thought. Ditto for battery posts, door hinges, spark plug boots. With door hinges I do very surgical application of lube, just into the joint.

OTOH, underbody bolts, license plate screws: I drench in oil, before they turn into rust lumps.

Don’t grease bas bars before installing them! That can very easily cause bad connection. And as it’s hard to grease after install normally they are not greased.
