public transit cuts, incompetence discussion thread

    I know in another thread (which is locked know), I recall pakitt complaining of the terrible (prehistoric?) train service in the Bay Area.

    On that note, I came across Caltrain proposes shuttering half its stations - San Jose Mercury News about service cuts and station closures. Caltrain is already pretty bad in terms of frequency and in terms of it being useless for many people in the Bay Area. Public transit to commute to work wasn't an option at all for me when I lived in the Bay Area. The time it'd take was insane vs. driving.

    Today, I came across Caltrain CEO Highest Paid Transit Boss In California « CBS San Francisco.

    Anyway, discuss and/or rant away about public transportation cuts and/or incompetence in your area in this thread.
