    Hello everyone!

I've been a long time admirer of the Prius and am close to finally purchasing a prius after the transmission went out on my daily driver last week.

Question - For the package II, what negotiated prices have you gotten?

I would expect that some of the demand may be down with the Prius V and Lexus models being available.

    Thanks for your input.

There are deals out there but you gotta look, otherwise expect to pay MSRP. What is your local? If Southern CA, look up Dianne.

    Central Texas is home.

Is MSRP the expectation on a new vehicle?

Demand is somewhat down with lower gas prices and more supply. $500 under sticker should be the most you should pay. I see some ads in California for this price.

    Good Luck

    Thank you xpcman.

I was also expecting the Prius V release to lessen the demand as well.

First... thanks to all those that responded. Especially impressed by the encouraging words from the "GrumpyCabbie" in the UK!!!

For reference, I found purchasing information at Edmunds from discussion posts here:

Toyota Prius Prices Paid and Buying Experiences - Car Forums - Edmunds

The Edmunds discussion board indicates there are deals being offered on the West coast but at present time I am finding very little opportunities for deals here in Texas. Given my current situation with a broken car - time is not on my side (unlike the Rolling Stones).

I've queried dealers in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Killeen, and San Marcos for quotes on a Prius II package. After all that, I have got a verbal commitment for $750 below MSRP and will likely close this deal over weekend. (Waiting for a Blizzard Pearl with Misty Grey interior to arrive on the lot).

I also considered and researched low, mileage pre-owned 2010-11 vehicles. But I concluded that there was not much advantage going that route.

So, after 4 years of casually following this board and other news (see my "join date")... I am looking forward to actually being an owner. Hopefully I can report back in a few days with owner status!

Nice. Try to get the VIN of the Prius and something in writing... they may sell it from under you.

Great color choice by the way. ;)
