    Hi all,

I am looking to lease a 2011 Prius II during Toyotathon and was told that I was not able to use the $500 cash back for a lease. I am not using any of the "special" lease offers (so I am not combining it with another offer), but calculated it myself with the residual and money factor.

From what I understand about leasing it is still necessary to negotiate the price of the car and in light of that there should be nothing preventing me from factoring in the $500 cash back.

Is the dealer blowing smoke or can cash back offers not be used on leases?

Also, one other question, is the "acquisition fee" listed on Toyota's website a necessary expense or is that another one of those things you can avoid paying?

    Thanks for the help

If you are using the TFS subvented rates, that's a special lease rate.
Meaning, Toyota's either going to give you a $500 rebate OR they are not going to give it to you when you use their special lease rates or the special APRs.

Second, the acq. fee is a real expense and not negotiable.
