The front door speakers (woofer/tweeter) have separate outputs from the JBL amp. The rear does not, and uses a passive resistor to filter the frequencies to the tweeter. My question is if you install component speakers into the front doors, can't you just wire both the tweeter and woofer wires to the input on the component crossover. Would this give (as close as possible with the JBL amp equalization) a "full range" signal? That way the crossover could divide the frequencies according to its settings, which would likely be better suited for the components than the JBL crossover frequencies (unless they just happened to be the same, that is).

The rear speakers are not really an issue, as there is only one output fromt he JBL amp, so it makes it a no-brainer.

    Any comments?

The front speakers are crossed over digitally at the JBL amp. You will not be able to 'combine' the signal into the aftermarket crossover. In order to get a full signal, you must take the signal that is going to the rear speakers.

Here are the wire outs for the JBL amp:

    Pink, pin S15-8: LF+
    Violet, Pin S15-19: LF-
    Light Green, Pin S15-9: RF+
    Blue, Pin S15-20: RF-
Black, Pin S15-4: LR+ (passive crossover for tweeter)
    Yellow, Pin S15-13: LR-
Red, Pin S15-5: RR+ (passive crossover for tweeter)
    White, Pin S15-14: RR-
    Pink, Pin S15-6: TLF+
    Violet, Pin S15-17: TLF-
    Light Green, Pin S15-7: TRF+
    Blue, Pin S15-18: TRF-
    Red, Pin S15-3: C+
    White, Pin S15-12: C-

Notice, there is duplication of wire colors, so be careful.
For example, the front tweeters and fullrange speakers have the same color code, as does the center speaker with the rear right speaker
